Make a field output wider

Can I adjust the output of a field to make that field wider in the output table?

I am outputting two fields -- the first is a "web site banner", the second is the text description of the web site. The second field is wrapping and looks very vertical -- I'd like it to be wider and not wrap so much text. I've tried commands such as "table width" and "td width" with no success.
