      did u use the carrot when you use data base something like, db=^databasename

    Need help with db calls, Christoph!!


      Can't seem to call two different db's from the same page. Have tried every possible rights combination for both the code page and the database. Have tried using "init", though I couldn't find much documentation on its proper use.

      I can copy code from a working page to a new page; works on the original , not on the copy - even though I use the "get" syntax exactly as documented on the bp site.

      I have another codepage that has no problem calling two db's, though it is not named for either. I have checked and double-checked the rights on both codepages and db's.

      Is there some rule I didn't see or couldn't find?

      I'll send you URL's if requested, but the db's contain private info not suitable for posting here.

      I have experienced similar problems but it does work. Perhaps you are missing a db=*** somewhere, either in a "get" or a "get while". If the databases do not have the same name as the template you must be very careful to get all occurences with db=. Also, do_all or <do action db=***> -- you must be missing something somewhere.

      If you'd like, you can send me the database link or, it won't hurt my feelings if you prefer to wait for Christoph :)

      Found my problem. Wasn't what I thought at all (as is often the case).

      I used "while(get_next)," without including the db name. This hadn't been a problem in any of my other codepages, and matched the first instance of its usage in the documentation. Later usages showed the other syntax, which I tried. I'm guessing that "while(get_next)" assumes the db name to be the title of the page unless explicity declared otherwise within the (). I don't know if that is exactly right, but using the syntax "while(get_next dbname)" works, so I'm taking my luck and moving on.
