    Passwords in BasePortal

      I'm quite a new user to BasePortal and I think its one of the best FREE databases I've came across with great userbility (if such a word exists). Anyway I've being looking at quite a lot of the password queries over the past year or so but can't quite find what I'm looking for.

      I've managed to set up a database with the relevant page being able to modify records according to passwords and suchlike from users. Now I'm looking for a way to bring up a sort of Front Page (as opposed to the 'main' page where only users that we have given passwords to will be able to get access to a particular page. Is this Possible? Or should the Password Access code be on the same page as the data???

      I'm not much of a coder but I'm quite good at the old copying and pasting and trail and error methods... Any help would be great.

      B.E.

      Hi there, are there any user pages that anyone knows of in BasePortal that contain choice menus and option boxes etc.

    Re: Passwords in BasePortal

      I'm not quite sure I understand what you want to do ,-)

      But you can just create a new page and enter a form there:

      <form action="/cgi-bin/baseportal.pl?htx=/yourname/nameof2ndpage" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">
      <input type="password" name="password=">
      <input type="submit">
      </form>

      When the user enters his password in this form and presses return/submit he will be going the the "nameof2ndpage" page...

      ok?
