      Dear Christoph Bergmann

      I am trying to search my databse by the (Year) and NOT the (full date) to get the result filtered to the requested year.But even if I am entering the full date (e.g. 28/05/03) I dont get the result for that particular date but rather I get results for both 28/05/03 and 28/01/03 (both have the 28th day of a month).

      If you dont mind to go to the page I am testing:

      http://baseportal.com/cgi-bin/baseportal.pl?htx=/qalsaleh/CME_Copy&cmd=do_search

      and view the source code of the page. You can use the following examples to test:

      TheDate: (I need e.g. 2002)

      Doctor Name:Qasem A. Alsaleh

      (OR) CME No:10118/M

      I greatly appreciate your kind help.

      Qasem A. Alsaleh

    math in your baseportal

      gd day master, Could I possibly create an output in my database if i input a value in my html like a formula in mathematics say:[(a+b+c)/(q)]*50+50..where a, b, c and q are input values. It's a little bit complicated. I know your in the right position to create a code of this formula.

      More power master.

      Mike

      What more exact would you like to do?
      Where is the problem?

      In perl you can calculate what ever you want.
      Naturally you must make your own outputsite or inputform, if you like to do someting special.

      Like this

      <loop code=perl>
      out ($Fielda + $Fieldb * 100) /$Fieldc;
      </loop>

      The other way:
      Calculate it, before storing in the data base.

    Re: one database and two forms

      great day master...

      I am new to the perl program and i dont have any knowledge about it. So when i tried your base portal its really a gret idea of learning. But my problem are these:

      1. is it possible to create 1 database where one page you can edit, modify and delete and in the other page you are restricted to do so but read only (both page will open at the same time.- user- admin type)

      2. how could i control the number of message in a text box, say in a guest book?

      thank you master and more power

      mike

    Re: math in your baseportal

      thanks for a very quick reply master..but i really dont have even a bit of knowledge in perl. And i think your base portal is my first step.
       i have to make three column fields, A,B,C,&D.these are input numbers. and the last column D, is the sum of the three numbers A,B, and C. What perl codes am I going to write in my html-assuming i have already my page.

      thank you and more power
