Message from Barrie E on 2/23 2004, 20:40 +00:00 EMail: barrie@millgate.com WWW: www.millgate.com Club Steward (Duty Manager) applicationHello, I have a need to schedule one person from a list of about 60 persons into half day 'slots' from April through October. These people are so called 'stewards' in our bowling club. Each person can have preconditions (working constraints) such as 'mornings only' or 'Not Tuesdays' or 'weekdays only' or 'Not weekends' etc and I do not wish to exclude any such rule. Having been given the overall schedule of half days to cover (provide a steward); and noting that each date may need all day, half day or no cover at all - I need to assign, randomly, one steward per half day allowing for any constraints on that steward. I need to keep routine data such as Surname, First Name, telephone no, Address etc. for each of the Steward Pool. I need to operate on a calendar framework and I need to be able to publish/print the Stewarding Schedule for each week in the season. I would also like to be able to publish/print the personal Season's schedule for each individual Steward. Finally, I'd like to publish this all on a website designed and managed in FrontPage 2002. Can anyone comment on this requirement, please ? |

Message from Gary Heyen on 2/24 2004, 15:34 +00:00 EMail: garybev@autin.rr.com Create a new data baseWe currently are using another piece of software to house our address book database. We want to take the data from that data base and put it in a baseportal database. We can put the current into an excel spread sheet. How do we get the spread sheet data into the baseportal data base. If anyone has perl to do this or has done it in the past I would appreciate if you would share this with me. Thanks |

Just make sure you have the correct field names. Use the fields from your baseportal data base, not the excel spreadsheet. Then use managment tab and import. Hope this helps |
