Message from Christoph Bergmann on 2/9 2004, 18:33 +01:00 EMail: info@baseportal.com Re: Just Found that you do store back ups - this is the worst caseWell, this is NOT intended as a fallback for user databases, but as a backup for the complete baseportal.com (if the hard disc crashes or sth.). Anyway... ;-) I tried to recover mmu_rowing/Members from the backup which which was created on 9th of February, 02:53 CET - but this database was empty (there are field definitions but no content file). I will try again with the days before but you will only have luck if you changed sth. in the last days, because the backup is an incremental backup, which means: it only saves the _changes_... |

Message from Malcolm Sterling on 2/9 2004, 10:54 +00:00 EMail: webmaster.rowing@mmu.ac.uk WWW: www.mmu.ac.uk/rowing Just Found that you do store back ups - this is the worst caseHurray ! I've spotted that you do back ups ! ---> we save the data of the previous 7 days so that, in the worst case, we can access that data. Please can you help me retrive the data that was in mmu_rowing/Members That was renamed mmu_rowing/MembershipForm That had its data cleared. One other thing is that I may have moved a field or two after I cleared the data. Yours in hope, Malcolm |

Message from Christoph Bergmann on 2/10 2004, 03:58 +01:00 EMail: info@baseportal.com Re: Just Found that you do store back ups - this is the worst caseThe backup of 2/9 2004 saves all changes of the day before, therefore I looked in the right backup... I looked for MembershipForm as well, but its empty too... I looked in 2/8 and in 2/7 as well and there was no files like this (means: you didn't change anything in them). I need about 15 minutes per backup to restore and search it, I will go on tomorrow, but it looks like I can't help you, sorry... |
