      Did you use the example from the library? If yes, please can you post your code so far? And provide a link to your page...

    Password and main directory

      I don't understand how to link the users database to my main database.

      All I want is to have people sign in with user names and passwords, and then see the information in a table.

      I'm missing something, its probably right in front of me. Help?!

    Re: Password and main directory

      I used the example in the library- I copied it to my directory, etc etc.

      But where exactly does the code go? I put it in the "users" page and therefore my users db is password protected. I pasted it into the main db's template and got a password prompt under the information that I want to protect. I have a 'name' field in both dbs- but the password is only protecting the table of users.

      I'm trying to set up a user-friendly database, to log calls and appointments as they come in to my department. 5 people need to have access to the list, which contains names and phone numbers of outside clients and shouldn't be available to view to the whole internet world.

      What I want is to have the url open to a login page, not the informational page (like I have now).

      My code is the default in both cases- two templates, one the main table and the other the example from the library, so its not really worth looking at. I don't know perl at all, but I'm alright around HTML.

      What should I do?

    Re: Password and main directory

      You should use the code in your main template - after that remove the

      <do action=all ...>

      You probably left this on the page and therefore the information you wanted to protect is shown...

      You don't need this code to protect the "users" database because you should use the "Management" tab of the "users" database to do this... Just give nobody any rights to this database...

      Ok?

      If not: A link and the code would be helpful, believe me ;-))
