    How to hide all data when a blank Search entry is used?

      I also need to hide all the data on my website, and I have used the previously suggested solution of TheOneRing: "<do action=all selectbrowse=no details=no ..etc" keeping the Search option available, and it is working but the problem is when using "search" with a blank entry, then All data will be available to the user !
      How to prevent result of a blank search from being available to the user?

      make sure you use action=all and listtype=list and NOT listtype=all. You may need to add it like this:

      <do action=all listtype=list selectbrowse=no details=no>

      Does this help?

      Actually you may want to use listtype=search -- that's a new one on me and I can see I should have used it myself a few times. An excerpt from the Baseportal documentation file:

      list (output in different formats)
      list is needed in order to control the output of the templates more precisely.

      <do action=list listtype=add db=user>

      outputs the input form of the database user.

      <do action=list listtype=all db=user>

      outputs everything in the database user (form, tabs, search, content)

      <do action=list listtype=list db=user>

      outputs only the content of the database user.

      <do action=list listtype=search db=user>

      outputs the search form of the database user.

      Thank you TheOneRing, now when using listtype=search it does prevent an blank input from displaying every thing to the user but the problem now is that a proper search input (non-blank) will not show the result of search too! What should I do now?
